A Real Subliminal Definition

This “subliminal definition” definition article will finally give an official definition for the term subliminal, and indeed all the terms associated with it. We have tried to include all the main terms and related vocabulary, but if there is something missing please let us know.
Subliminal = Comes from 2 Latin words; Sub and Limen. Sub means under, and limen means threshold. Literally translated word for word it means "below threshold". It has more recently been used to describe any type of message which passes below the limits of conscious perception i.e. below our conscious awareness levels.
Subliminal Messages = To elaborate on the definition above subliminal messages can either be be text or images flashed so fast that we can't see them, or they can also come as embedded sounds in audio format - and again most popularly either simply above the limits of human hearing, or through subliminal backmasking…
Subliminal Backmasking = Is when played an audio track is played backwards and a message is revealed i.e. the message was embedded in the music, recorded backwards. These backwards messages are still understood by your un-conscious mind and they are processed just like any other message.
Subliminal Suggestion = Describes the transmission of information which subliminally induces a type of behavior in you. This can be through regular conversations with friends or through specific leading questions.
Subliminal Persuasion = This is similar to the above definition, but generally means the intention is more manipulative. i.e. when it is used by sales people to try and persuade people into a sale, or when companies use them in their advertising, to try and make the advert more memorable.
Subliminal Hynposis = Where you enter a mini-trance state without your knowledge. We go in and out of trances all the time; reading, daydreaming, watching tv, etc all put us into different states of consciousness, and it can be intentional, or purely through the act of doing a certain activity.
Subliminal Learning = This is when actual physical learning occurs from using subliminal technology. Eventually the messages build and spill over from our subconscious into the conscious mind and learning occurs - which could be anything from increased memory, ability to learn a foreign language, or “learning” such as self esteem development / improving confidence.
