Do you want to know how to hypnotize people? The good news is that it is not as difficult as you might think that does require some patience and most important, mutual trust. It is extremely unlikely that you have any luck in hypnotizing somebody who does not want to be hypnotized. Trust and willpower are the most important factors.
The patient needs to start by relaxing thoroughly. This can take some getting used to, but there are some things that will help. Firstly, you should be in a very comfortable position, preferably lying down and what you are wearing should be loose fitting and easy to rest in. Appropriate lighting is also important and it is a good idea to avoid any bright lights as they may cause distractions. The patient should also not be too tired, as they may fall asleep rather than into a trance.
The reasons for being hypnotized should thoroughly discussed beforehand. With regards to this, the appropriate questions will then be asked when the subject has reached a subconscious state. Using a variety of relaxation exercises, and speaking softly to the subject are the first steps in getting them to reach a state of perfect relaxation. Slow, steady breathing is also important to maintain relaxation.
To keep a state of hypnotic relaxation, the subject should not move and should continue to breathe slowly. It is also important to remain focused on one specific thought, relevant to the situation. You need to be able to shut everything else out of your mind and listen to the hypnotist.
When coming back to a level of normal consciousness, it is important that this process be done smoothly so to avoid any unpleasant surprises or any undue confusion. Patience is very important at all times on the part of the hypnotist.
