Your choice of speaker can make or break you conference, meeting or seminar. They’re a popular choice for events in education and business, so are motivational speakers worth it? When carefully chosen to match your event, yes.
Celebrities, sportspeople, academics and experts are just some of the types of motivational speakers available. As a result, choosing is not simple, but it is important.
Some speakers are authors renowned for their expertise in a particular field. Perhaps they don’t have any real celebrity, but they are most probably well known to your audience. Speakers like these can often endorse new business systems which you may be implementing at the time of the event. In order to motivate and inspire, expect the speaker to give examples of success stories. This type of speaker might even be able to bring a reluctant audience around to your way of thinking.
Some speakers may not be experts in their field but may still be successful. They are lower profile celebrities, maybe well known for winning a talent competition against the odds. This sort of person shouldn’t be written off though. They may be able to motivate by promoting an ‘anyone can do it’ attitude. This may mean they don’t make the ideal corporate motivational speaker, since they are perhaps perceived as having little authority. But this certainly doesn’t mean they don’t work. The stories such speakers can share can be used at a variety events such as careers fairs and support groups.
Equally popular as motivational speakers are sports stars. They often speak of dedication and perseverance which often raise morale. Sports speakers are perhaps the most versatile, proving popular at many events.
